Matt Culbertson, Director
I have always been a closet Olympic hopeful. But as a 47 year old Husband and father of 2, Spencer (14) and Hana (12), my dreams of achieving Olympic gold have faded. In fact the most I could hope for is maybe a medal on Fathers Day for being the Worlds Greatest Dad, an achievement I have earned approximately six times out of the fourteen years that I have been eligible. It was not until I first witnessed the sport of Curling during the Olympics that I felt my dream was still alive and even then my hopes were diminished because there wasn't a local active curling club. So when the Ice Ranch opened up and curling was back in Colorado, I jumped in and I have been soaking it in ever since. I have been curling for four years now and have served as league coordinator for the last year. I have also been lucky enough to travel to a few bonspiels including club nationals in Mankato MN. I look forward to helping this sport grow in Colorado and hope to see us establish a dedicated ice facility in the near future. |
